PRESS RELEASE
April 25, 2004

FORT WORTH, TEXAS. Thanks for your continued interest in NightStar!

Our new emergency light source has been received with tremendous approval, and word of it is spreading.

Think about it. You can throw it in a toolbox, tackroom, or drawer for five or ten years, pick it up, shake it and it works. No corroded or dead batteries or broken bulbs to worry about and, more importantly, it is the perfect light source for an extended emergency or disaster. Think of its value when a person is required to build a fire for light and survival. It is a family treasure in undeveloped countries and an absolute must for every car, truck, boat, house and office in the world. It does not generate any hazardous waste by-products or accessories. None.

The new NightStar is so rugged that several cases have been ordered by the NightStalkers, officially known as the U.S. Army's special forces' 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne, 160th SOAR) of Fort Campbell, Kentucky. We can only guess where they are going. (Keep well, NightStalkers, one and all. We know that "Night Stalkers Don't Quit".) The 160th SOAR and other members of the regiment provide aviation support to Rangers, Special Forces, and Psychological Operations.

With respect to performance, our new NightStar flashlight is over 3 times brighter than our previous light and provides in excess of 20 minutes of excellent illumination on a single charge (and yet requires only 90 shakes (about 30 seconds) to recharge).
Our new light is also smaller and quieter, and it floats!
We can also customize it with very striking labels adhered to the inside powercell.
It is also considerably less expensive. The MSRP is only $39.95.
In addition, we will soon be introducing Marine Yellow and Black NightStar lights and include an option to special order units with either a red or green LED for special applications. (Go NightStalkers!) These units will have sound dampening foam on the inside which will reduce the noise emissions by nearly half at 3 ft. They will also be made of a special blend of polycarbonate and ABS which makes them more resilient to petroleum products.
Our new NightStar is currently being tested by several independent labs. The tests include intrinsic safety (MIL-STD-810: Military Standard for products exposed to Acetylene, Hydrogen, Ethylene, Hexane, Natural Gas, & Aviation Jet Fuel JP4), marine standard ASTM F1014 (specified for lights on all water crafts and required for flashlights to be included in liferafts), magnetic field measurements, sound emission measurements, temperature (operational and storage), chemical compatibility, shock, impact, light output compared to a Maglite with new and half used batteries, light penetration through smoke, and submersion. The results from all these tests should be available in a few months.
Recognizing the world-wide implications of our emergency light source, we have recently redesigned the packaging in order to make it far more economical to ship while at the same time making it more high tech looking and eye catching. The new package will also take up less space on the retail shelf and is geared for the international market. The information manual contained in the packaging is in book form and is written in seven languages (Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish).

Finally, we would like to congratulate our competitors. While we would never say that someone was "knocking-off" our product (patented in 1999), we smile when we see that a similar product (announced in 2002) was awarded one of the most prestigious product design awards in Hong Kong. Congratulations. Also, certain American companies have joined the market. (We'll talk about our original patent and our expanded and revised patent later!) We welcome your efforts to compare our U.S. Patented NightStar® to the "Farraday Star" and the "Forever Flashlight". We did have our flashlight tested against the Forever Flashlight and here are the independent testing labratories test results. Read them and decide for yourself.

Ahhhh ...the most sincere form of flattery. Buy the original, patented, NightStar today.
